I went to Warrington this week to do 3 training courses at Baxi's training centre. The coureses were; basic electrical (using a multimeter, testing components) combi appreciation (inside a combi, all parts and how they work and faults) boiler diagnostic ( classroom in the morning and workshop after lunch). I would defo recommend these courses, im trying to get into service/repairs and found these courses full of usefull info. You can read as much as you like but you always learn more if you're being shown by someone. The tutor (big Roy) knew his job very well and had many years of experience to share with us all. Anyone looking for breakdown/diagnostic courses wont be disapointed

yeh I was going to go do them but warrington is quite a fair bit away 200 miles at least ! it says there is a training centre in glasgow but its not set up for boiler diagnostics n thats what I'm mostly interested in

I stay in Stewarton mate. Took 3.5 hours to get there, good thing is there's a premier in about 1 mile from the centre. Usually cheap and always good to stay in. Travelling was a pain but the courses were worth it. I managed to get the courses 3 days in a row. I couldnt find anywhere near us for diagnostic training so went there. Baxi seemed to be well recommended

Not sure if you are aware. they have a mobile set up. Give them a call, and they will arrange

Was just a course for boilers in general, combis systems and heat onlys. It wasnt all about baxi, which ive heard some manufacturers do. Only thing that was baxi was the boilers we worked on in the workshop

Doing 3 this week in Dartford. Had basic electrical today. Boilers tomorrow and controls thursday. 67.5 each, after discount. Learned a lot today. Well presented.

You won't regret it. Great course.

When I was on the final day, they had a faulty gas valve. It needed adjusting is all. Well they let this other bloke adjust it wrongly. (Madness I know) It went BANG!!! Like a firework. I was oblivious on the boiler in the next bay, when he came running at me. In his eyes I could tell he thought he was going to die!!! LOL.

In fairness we all jumped out our skin. It was very funny and I realised these guys aren't like the starched straight bores you get on other courses. Who often have the personality of a tadpole. I actually enjoyed myself and learned a bit to boot. I went after someone on here sung their praises. Think it was Gas Man.

Try the Honeywell course if you want the polar opposite of this experience. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

PS - did mine in Dartford. Think the blokes name was Simon...can't remember. It was the year before last. Thought it was last year. Time flies too quickly. Funny bloke.

I can also recommend the courses at Baxi Warrington, there is no selling what so ever unlike Honeywell. They also do a wiring course which is a lot better than Honeywell imo, you need to be doing faults on a regular basis to really learn though, but these courses are a good starting point
