the waste for these old sink were made on site out of lead with a grill on the inside and jointed with putty not very pretty even thenHi. looking for a sink waste with a 4" flange to fit a low type brown saltglazed sink.
Standard Belfast Sink waste is too small and won't grip.
Anyone know where I can get one?
Thanks
I had a local engineering company spin me a alloy floor gully cover up to replace the missing obsolete one in Walkabout bar Broad street Birmingham, cost £70 though and that was back in 2001.Hi, I'm Mike and i am also about to have trouble with an outlet on an old Shanks Belfast sink. I had to destroy the old waste which comprised a slotted bronze 2" id outlet as it was enclosed in the 3" lead outlet piping ( which was leaking elsewhere). I don't believe the more copmmon standard 1.5" 'Traditional' belfast waste will fit as the outlet on the base ceramic is some 3" id. Also the depth of the outlet is at least 60mm so I don't believe the standard 70mm deeep waste outlet will be sufficient to take securing flange/nut together with attachment to any new waste piping. My searches of the internet so far are only producing the standard 1.5 " outlet unit. Has anyone come across this problem before and if so what did they use to solve it other than buying a new belfast unit. cheers mike
