best gas book

hi im just about to do a gas course and didnt know which would be the best books to help me with the course any help ?? thanks stylez

Try the Viper book, what they aint got in there aint worth knowing.

Yep, Corgi book as dave recommends.

The viper book will be good when your on the job, but I think the Corgi book is definitely a must buy for a gas course.

i disagree, my viper books are my bibles. once you have joined gassafe they send you free of charge the ultimate bible!!

Like I said, on the job the viper book would probably be better, but whilst on the course I would recommend the Corgi book because it contains a lot more information and some of the exams are based on this book.

completed my asc, core and appliances last week, everything that I needed to lookup was found in the Viper.
Don't leave home without it.

The regulations are still the same, just because it has changed to gas safe, doesn't mean that there are suddenly a load of new rules, regulations and standards that you have to comply to.

Gas Safe/Corgi/Capita do not make the rules, they are just there to make sure you don't break them and to make sure those working on gas do so safely.

i dont think it matters what book you use, as others have said they simply quote the regs and BS docs, viper and new bpec books are in colour, not sure about the others, surely you will get books from your training provider? who are you doing your training with

treloar has a good gas book for learning about the trade. For regs and rules I use the corgi manual or bpec's own training material which does go out of date as all books do but their latest version is very good, similar to viper.

ps. isnt viper only available in pdf and you got to print it out yourself?

Depends which assessment center you go to, got mine for £40 🙂

no, you can get an a5 binder book for about £50 if you join their site with all updates and free acces to other pdf books or print of a spare copy.

I do not know the seller but the same book I use,I also have a viper for quick ref but above all up to date,give or take a few months 😀

They do not change the regs but they do like to twist and stretch them this way and that, as far as possible,just to keep us on our toes,mainly reaching up to the piggy bank to keep buying up to date books 🙁
