P

pauls

i was called out to a leak today fixed leak not a problem.

however last night when the leak started to show itself the son in law tied up the ball cock in the loft and over the morning the tank in the loft was run dry i filled the tank bak up and could not get any hot water or cold out of wash basin and no hot water in kitchen.

i eventually got the hot flowing slightly but no cold to the wash basin ive tried everything i can think of hose down the feed blast through with mains back filling via hot water tank nothing any ideas🙁

had one like this on a gledhill thermal store [heating has a 10 gal tank]could not get water back in the ch system what ever i tried, turned out the cold feed was in plastic under the floor boards this had dropped, sagged and air lock

so it was caused by the customer, hope your charging paul?.
may be sediment to bottom of cylinder blocking cold feed.
last resort, try opening kitchen tap, then vacume with wet n dry from c/w/s feed pipe the other way then release. mains water pressure down feed pipe with lowest tap open worked too in the past for me.
or drain of cylinder then go from there. proberbly quicker than scratching head and grasping for ideas.
good lick.
