Hello, can anyone offer advice here. We have a Potterton wall mounted gas boiler which has an exhaust that goes directly through the wall behind the boiler to the outside. It is not a condensing boiler so there is quite a bit of moisture in the exhaust gas. It has an internal fan and sucks air in via a concentric pipe in the flue (you probably know what I mean).
Last year we had a brick (with render over brick) porch built and the porch side wall is now parallel to the exhaust exit (about 6 inches away). We found last winter that the hot gasses were condensating on the new porch wall causing it to be quite wet outside. When it was very cold, the wet area was freezing and starting to damage the render.
As a quick measure, I put a heath-robinson plastic deflector along the wall to keep the steam off which worked perfectly but looks terrible. With winter approaching, the heating will soon have to go on so I'd like to have a better solution.
It seems like I need a curved flue extension to go on the end so that the exiting gases are pointed away from the side wall. Is this sort of thing available? Where would I look for one?
All advice appreciated:smiley2:
