I have a Sabre HE boiler about 10 yrs old with a curious problem?

I usually go through the following ordeal with my boiler :

I switch it from the middle position which resets the boiler to the left position which switches on the central heating and hot water.

It usually works fine for a few weeks but then breaks down. I leave it for a week or so then try it again and it usually works fine again for another
few weeks before breaking down again?

After looking at this problem I see the pilot light isn't coming on. I'm not sure whether the pilot light isn't lighting or the gas isn't getting through somehow?

I'm stumped on why it works for a few weeks then breaks down. You leave it for a bit of a rest then it appears to work again. Why?

Here you go I send you a few pictures. Hope they are what you need.

Not sure, but I send you some pics of inside if they help. I guess the long white stick is the ignition? I'm guessing its electric?

As far as I see its either the gas isn't getting through or the ignition isn't sparking?
