Hi.
I have a house with 2 boilers.
There is a system boiler in the Cellar which provides hot water to the entire house via a Storage Tank, and central heating to the mail living area and 2 bedrooms.
Another boiler in the attic provides central heating only to 4 bedrooms, landing, and bathroom.
Both boilers are about 35 years old.
The attic boiler is a Glow Worm 45/60, and is leaking carbon monoxide into the room. It needs replacing, but I want to relocate it from a bedroom into a storage cupboard. The storage cupboard has a partial sloped ceiling so the fitting space is fairly small. Because the roof is slate, I would like to not disturb it and vent through the back of the boiler.
There is also a shower room directly below the storage cupboard, which presently holds an electric shower with cold water feed. I would like to change this in the future and install a thermostatic shower from the new boiler, so I believe a combi boiler is best for the job.
An installer has recommended a Glow Worm Flexicom 24CX, and has promoted the 10 year warranty. However after reading the reviews on this forum i am not sure this is a reliable boiler. The benefit is the direct rear venting flue.
Can I please have some opinions? Suggestions for a different boiler? or confirmation that the flexicom is the most suited to this type of environment.
Thanks.
