can anybody explain as to the difference between combi, system and heating boilers
heating boiler is used with a cylinder to give heating and hot water usually run open vented
system boiler does exactly the same but includes a preasure vessel and pump internally so no open vent or header tank
combl boiler is a system boiler with an internal divertor valve and plate heat exchanger to give hot water dirrect from a mains suply

cheers steve!the question is whether to go for combi or condensing and where i can get more info

all boilers for domestic use are condensingcombi heat only or system
might be easier if you explained what you have now and what it is your planning to do ?

Worcester Bosch website is helpful (gas and oil boilers and all sorts) as well as What is a combi, What is a system, etc, etc

cheers again! presently got open vented system with cylinder and header tank and f & e in flat where running condense would require pump as long run to stacks and property backs on to pavement and busy main road.

present boiler is crappy apollo which needs to be fired into outer space!!!!!!

you are going to have to fit condensing boiler condense can go into any plastic waste pipe, sink ,basin etc or the condense can be pumped
for a flat a combi is the best solution go for min 28 kw
