Evening gents

I have just got back from a Boilermate 2000 cylinder that has split and needs replacing. It's being run on a potterton suprema 40.

I am proposing installing a 210 unvented cylinder but am pretty sure the 12kw? Boiler wont be up to the task.

It's a three bed, bathroom, ensuite with shower, and downstairs cloakroom. About 12 rads.

These boilers were all pretty much fitted around the same time so I'm asking if anyone has encountered replacing the unit with something else? Possibly a thermal store however the pump over run could cause problems!

Cheers

contact gledhill and ask if they do a cylinder that can directly replace the exsisting one with little alterations. if they dont they may either make you one or repair the old one as some of there manufacturing depos do made to order cylinders.

I was mainly concerned with the size of the boiler on an unvented cylinder more than anything. I'll also give gledhill a call tomorrow!

Last time I looked at replacing a boilermate it worked out cheaper to convert to unvented with an S plan.

even small unvented cylinder can have 16kw coils, so with the heating sytem also, the 12kw boiler may strugle.

Would think boiler is undersized for 12 rads (Depending on size) without the cylinder ! have you done a quick total rad outputs ? Think I would be looking at boiler replacement as well , What about a storage combi ?.
