hi everybody im having some problems with a bristan 1901 shower it wasnt producing any hot water , anyone have any ideas as to the problem ???

Welcome to the forum.

More information needed I'm afraid. Is this a new shower that has been fitted? If not, has the hot water suddenly stopped coming through or has it been reducing for a while? Is the hot water supply to taps ok?

hi cheers for replying , the shower has been in for a while its in my grandparents house in the main bathroom and as they have an en suite it hasnt been used for a number of years so i cant be sure when the shower stopped working as they moved in a few years ago now. and yes the hot water supply is fine to the taps the supply comes from a grant oil combi which is directly underneath the bathroom also the hot inlet pipe on the side of the shower gets red hot.

The first thing I would do is isolate the unit from the water supply and check that the filter on the hot side isn't blocked. The shower doctor website provides an exploded diagram of the valve so you can see how to get to the filters.

If the filter is clean you probably need a new cartridge.
