Installed a bristan cheer 8.5kw as a straight swap for a gainsborough 8.5kw yesterday and it didnt heat the water up. Its wired correct so i rang my merchant and took it back for a new one. Took that back installed and that one didnt work either!!

Dont know what to do now should i try a third time? anyone been in this situation? cheers

yes pressure is way above the 0.7 bar required. Electrical supply tested with volt stick up to connector and into shower .. suppose i could check resistance of elements maybe

So solenoid valve is opening & allows water through, if so there is power to it. Whats the flow like, did you flush ? Restrict the flow with your fingers & see if you bring on the pressure switch & the heater, if the flow is slow.
Otherwise check the heater element as you say.

update .... found a stop tap in loft to isolate the shower .. pressure must have been just under the 0.7bar .. removed old stop tap and works fine now ... thanks for your input!
