Recently passed my UHWSS and got me card as well.

One of me mate had a Megaflo fitted but the installer has left without finishing the work (payment issue). The Unvented cylinders are installed in the basement. The pipe work all seems fine except the discharge pipe work.
As per Building Regs G3, discharge pipe D1 from the Temperature relief valve to tundish before the first bend has to be maximum of 500mm and D2 from tundish has to be minimum of 300mm before the first bend.

As the cylinders are installed in the basement there is not much room there to achieve the above D1 and D2 requirement. Does the warranty on the Megaflo cover if G3 requirements are not met and if I do complete the pipework, will the hot water coming out from the tundish spill out.

A sump pump has been also installed in the basement for any accidents or overflows, Can the D2 discharge pipe be dropped in there, as the water coming out of the T&P valve will be very hot will this cause any damage to the pump or will the sump pump work normally.

in my experience most of the recently qualified unvented fitters were obviosly just given qualification as a throw away along with the rest of the course they were on.

since their is a sump most people would just dump it to the sump the tundish is for a visable discharge

This is a safety discharge and therefore must discharge in a safe visible location. Quite right the tundish can be the visible bit, as more an more building instectors are allowing discharge to drain the tundish is the only visible part. It's a little bit down to interpretation on the G3. I do not see much of a problem, providing your D1 and D2 are the correct measurements and there is a continous fall to the sump.
