Building trades directory nonesense

Hi guys , best one yet for beating B.T Customer street with '' I have some work to put your way if you can take any on at the moment mate'' In a tough northern accent ( as we all have) . Got a phone call from BTD which stands for building trades directory , phoned me up and asked if I could phone Dave brown back after three o clock ( made it sound like his secretary ) as he has some toilets need fixing and general plumbing work need doing in some offices in Leeds , just to make it sound like they actually have immediate work for me! So I phoned them back and sure enough it is another one of these SCAM directories wanting £230 for membership. ENYONE ELSE HEARD OF THEM ? SCAM! When I said I was not interested she said... ''oh why is that may I ask?'' Err '' because it is a scam and your website looks really crap''🙂

I don't know if it happens in the UK, but a favourite scam in France, is to send a very official looking invoice, to you for a trade directory, its got all your details on it, registration number of your trade, every thing about the registration of when you started trading etc
Sometimes this is almost a direct copy of a proper official invoice, the only difference is the address of where to send the payment

yep-scam. also watch out for similar scam re internet registration (your website address) and or directory.

all these web directories just want your money ,most are a waste of time.has anyone tried trust a trader,uk consumer protection agency ? .let us know how you did with them.

im a trusted trader with my business (Aquarius Home Improvements LTD - Kitchens, Bathrooms & General Home Improvements) i dont get much of it for my business about 2 leads a month, but for general plumbers i bet its good
