T

the contractor

Hi Guys
I put a question on here about short courses and thank you for your answers.
I have seen a course at the building skills centre for plumbing which you get a c & g level 1 the work I will be doing will require me to installing wc equitment in pubs and offices will this courses be usefull for this I will also be on call for leaks ect I am already a nvq level3 carpenter which took me 3 years this is why I am consurned about fast track courses but this contract I have been offered will be another string to my companys bow I would rather sub it out but I cant as you have to be on the contractors list any advise welcome please.

Can't see that anything other then common sense will be covered at level 1.
The main problem I think you'll face is that most courses are designed at domestic plumbing where as pubs will be commercial.

You may come across some weird and wonderful stuff that will not be covered in domestic plumbing courses.
It will not all be choked toilets and dripping taps.
Unless you get a subby or employ a plumber you will be well out your depth with this and possibly end up loosing the contract.
You have to learn to walk before you run.
