Hi all...

I've been reading a good few threads on here and have decided that the best method for me to become a plumber is to try and learn as much as possbile for as long as possbile before making the switch.

Due to financial constraints I'm going to have to study my NVQ (level 2&3) part-time whilst I continue in my current employment... the aim is to get 2 years+ study under my belt whilst helping friends and family with odd small jobs.

The problem I have is I can't find anywhere local to cambridge that offer part-time NVQ courses... happy to do weekends or evenings...

My long term goal is to go self employed but I don't want to this until I am fully ready... if this takes time then so be it... I want a good reputation for repeat business and referals!!!

Does anyone no of reputable local courses to cambridge???

Hi welcome to the forum

try your local building collage, courses start in september but you will need to register asap due to limited places

The only one I could find was Cambridge Regional college but the part-time course is for DIY'ers... they do offer full time but would be impossible to start again with all the bills...

... can't see how else I can do it???

Any advise would really be appreciated?

Hi DelboyYid,
I am from Suffolk and the closest to me was at Dartford, I think they were called the Plumbing Acadamey but as I am doing my training alongside my full time job the best for me was a company called TradeQualified at Southampton. Have you got your C&G 6129.

Hi,
just wonder how far you want to travel?
There is a faculty of Moulton College in Higham Ferrers, Northants, they do part-time 6129 there(once a week), but I think i't about 40 miles commute...
