My British Gas bgmvsp-23 mid positioned actuator has gone - it's not the valve, just the head - can I replace it with a Can a DRAYTON MA1/679-3 3 PORT VALVE MID POSITION actuator?

I know the BG bgmvsp-23 mid positioned actuator is a rebranded Drayton one - but don't think it's this particular one...

Ta!

Have you looked to see if you can get away with just swapping the synchronous motor, you can get these for about 15 quid. Failing that, usually the actuator heads aren't much cheaper than buying the entire valve. So you could always buy the full valve, try the head on the old body and if it doesn't fit, just change the whole thing. May save you a drain down if the new head fits and if not at least you've got the right body for it.

Probably just a rebranded drayton... Very common! Check wiring is the same & replace... Could just be the motor as above, also check the spindle is free & not stiff as that will kill the motors prematurely
