Can I connect 2 radiators?

Hi
The front room in my house is by far the coldest room in the house mainly because my couch sits right in front of it and seems to absorb all the heat.
I recently bought a vertical radiator, my plan was to position it in a spot just to the side of the existing radiator.
My original thinking was to remove the old radiator and replace it with the new one, but after looking at the way it would go I started to wonder if I could attach the new one onto the side of the old one in some way.
Is this a good idea?
Thanks for any help.
Regards
Dave

could possibly work (conntect to same pipework), if the pipework is sized well enough then it should be fine as long as both rads have thermostatic control.

it would be better to have the other radiator the other side of the room to heat the room better and avoid cold spots/areas.

Ive seen it done before in a social club where rads were connected together with both top and bottom tappings. They were boxed in behind seats and it worked well, main flow and teturn pipework was large though.

Thanks for the replies.
The central heating was installed 15 years ago and is run by 10mm flexi copper piping I think.
As I said previously I know very little about this type of work.
My plan was to remove the return valve on the existing rad and buy some small part that would connect the 2 15mm threaded holes on each rad. Then I thought I could attach the return valve to the new rad creating a flow and return through both rads.
Does this sound do-able?
Also, I would need to extend the flexi piping on the return valve by about 18 inches. Can this be done without soldering?

10mm doesn't bode well for running 2 radiators. For best results on 10mm you need each rad piped individually.
Also tall rads are not as efficient as wide rads for heating as a lot of the heat goes up to the ceiling.
I advise a re-think. If I was at a job doing this I would be telling the customer that they can't hold me accountable when it doesn't work.
