Resteraunt called me they have a leak meter is u16 and pipe diameter is 1 1/4

One combi boiler vok compact
And 3 gas burners (cooking)

Im
Domestic

restaurant has the ring of commercial to me, air extractors, interlocks for gas supply etc etc. Does your insurance list restaurants in the places you can work? probably not

noooo surly not!!

how can you re-instate and purge and light/ check gas burners without ticket?

No I wouldn't have thought so. Probably over the domestic installation volume and the kitchen equipment will more than likely be classed under commercial catering.

Things to consider: Gas meter up to U16 (Domestic) IV up to 0.035m3 (Domestic) Pipe work diameter up to 35mm (Domestic) Boilers up to 70kW net (Domestic) Catering appliances (Commercial). Commercial catering standards to consider BS6173, HSE catering information sheets 3, 10 23, HVCA DW172. So it could be OK to work on the domestic items depending if the installation falls into the correct parameters but not on the catering side.

doesnt the kitchen gas supply have a aecv ? if it does or is there one near the boiler ?

isolate and work from that point , and if there is not a test point just fit one

I remember some one here suggesting this long time ago , not sure if its the right way of doing it
