We are in the middle of having our bathromm installed and are about to fit a hydrolux 760mm frameless shower enclosure with a hinged door attached to a smaller side panel.

We bought this from Victoria Plumb but last night the work came to a standstill as our plumber thinks that the enclosure is not wide enough to fit the 760mm tray even though we bought both together from Victoria Plumb.

Here's the bit we don't iunderstand. It says both side panel and door panel are adjustable from 735-760mm but we cant figure out how to get them that wide.

Taking the side panel as an example: The chrome strip which fits to the wall is 40mm wide and says you should allow 15mmm for the panel to slot into to screw in. This means that the panel then starts 25mm from the wall. The panel itself is 690mm. By my sums that means that total width would be 690+25=715mm plus a little bit more then for the magnetic chrome strip on the other end but how is this supposed to be extendable from 735-760. Even if I stand the chrome wall strip 40mm and the panel 690mm together that only gives me 730mm.

I rang Victoria Plumd last night and they said they are all adjustable and this is the correct size for the panels but asked me to email them a picture of the panel with a tape measure proving how wide it is but looking at similar showers on other websites they all seem to have the same dimensions but I just can't see how they can be extended further.

Does anyone have any experience of fitting one of these. I am at my wits end with this whole bathromm installation that was supposed to take a week and is now at 3 weeks!!

down to you to sort with vp, best to get your fitter to supply in future and it should be right then

A good example of what we all say all the time.
If the bathroom installer supplies the products fitting them is his problem - if he got the wrong thing he will take it back and get something else - his own time and money.

But when customer supplies Then if products don't work together or are wrong it is the customers problem.

Also, I have never heard of a plumber buying from VP

But on message boards about how to DIY your own cheap bathroom complete refit VP is where they are all shopping.

I had a similar thing with a D I Y chain,i had to go to store with the shower screen and
prove to them that the box contained the wrong size screen.Only when we opened
another one that contained the right size did they believe me.Very frustrating.
