Hi everyone

I've been asked by a customer if I can replace the current thermo cartridge on her ceda steam shower, I've found one but can't get the old one out. Any ideas?

Many thanks

Kev

I have never done one but would expect the chrome shrouds to screw off to allow you to get a spanner on the flats of the cartridge.

Thank you for your response. I've even tried that and it just won't budge

There is no other good reason to have that shape of the cartridge except to accomodate a spanner. Have you tried a bit of force with a pair of grips on the shrouds?

The shroud may have been siliconed aswell as tightened, it needs to go though to release the cart.

thank you, i get what you mean, and what you say makes perfect sense. still wont move though

I never thought about that, i'll bet you're right. thanks guys for your help

I'm guessing it's a type 11 or type 12 cart, one of them screws in, the other has a grub screw to hold it in place.
If it's type 11 you 'might' just be able to unscrew it if you can get some grips on the flat edges. If it's type 12 you will have to take the shroud off to get at the grubscrew. Get a blade down the back of it - or just gorilla it if you can source a replacement 😉
