Help!

I am having a new dishwasher coming and need to take out the old one. I want to leave the waste pipe and cold water inlet hose attached to the pipes under the sink . I haven't got any means to cut off the water other than the stopcock.

Is there a valve that I can attach to the end of the cold water hose to block the water (the end that screws on to the inlet on the dishwasher)?

There should be a blue handle on the valve where the hose screws onto the pipework, well there should be , you shouldnt have to turn cold water off unless the blue plastic handle fell off or its a male style fitting,

The water for the dishwasher is connected via a self cutting valve with no option to cut off. Is there a 'cap' I can use to screw on the hose as a temporary measure for a couple of days until the new kitchen and dishwasher if fitted?

Big Thanks to SmokeyJ, Just fitted the 3/4 brass plug and does exactly what I wanted. Old dishwasher now out and new one coming tomorrow.

Many thanks
