Siggles

I took the faceplate off my Combimate Cistermiser and it looked so clear inside, with the old degraded balls resting on the bottom I was sure the water cut-off had happened and so unscrewed the red tap at the top only to have the water come gushing out. My stopcock does not work and Ic ouldnt shut my water off and so I was soaked by the time I was able to screw the cap back on. Very frantic 10 minutes.

Can anyone explain how the shut-off works and whether it can be worked manually. I see something in an FAQ about it but no real instructions on how to do it. Please help.

Hi there........ press the red buttons on the right and left hand side, then slide the cover off, this will activate the built in valve cut off, to be sure this has worked open a tap and it should stop, I.E no water flow, if it feeds a combi only then open an hot tap, this way you won't get wet, replace the dome o ring that comes within the siliphos ball canister too.

good luck

Hi, that's my point really. I did all that but the cut off mechanism did not work. I want to know what should happen on removal of the cover and if there is a way to manually override it. I called Cistermister and there are two red levers and that maybe the mechanism has ceased.

Yep it activates on cover removal, so has ceased early ones were known for this, later ones the covers would pop off and cut off the water supply!

Get a plumber in to replace your inside stopcock, so the cisternmiser can be serviced, but more importantly you can shut off your water in an emergency too
