Was from a previous post that was closed.

Basically op asked if they could combine prv and condensate.

Few people said they were a muppet and wasn't legal but it is if u fit a condensate pump its not only legal but included in mi.

Some pumps can take both and Viessmann's combine them. The only issue's afaik is an air break and high temp plastic. but Viessmanns allow you to come off their condensate trap with ordinary o/f pipe although their hose from the trap is high temp rated to get the kitemark so read of that what you will.

Things are changing quickly in development these days and the regs take a while to catch up.

Needs a pump does it? Not sure about that, but the veissmann boilers say they have it

Baxi group , ideal and valliant group all have the info on mi. most condensate pumps are bs/en and carry instructions for installing prv and cond.

Just looked at MI's and it doesn't mention anything about material after flexi. So, like you say tamz, can I use ordinary overflow pipe? Also, would it be advisable to put an air break so I can see prv is discharging as am running into soak away

Bucket beat me... How can u delete post ?

Why did I just delete my post????

So how will custard know if its condensate or prv? Tundish seems pointless?

If there is a steady trickle it is the prv. The condensate is syphonic.

I get calls from custards because logic plus says "pump over run" steady trickle or full blow off, symphonic is what my phone would be like if they were watching tundish discharges!

But it's a combined condense and prv

Only combined after the tundish before its just the prv
What I have done in the past is prv into tundish short piece of 22mm copper into hep 2o valve which converts to plastic then t in condense pipe after hep valve then run in
1 1/4 to soil ,drain or soak away

The only way to beat a customer is with a bat  Thick as mince most of them.

Oh ok, so you have fitted these vitodens boilers? And this is what you do? I just don't see in the MI'S a prv connection

It's up to u what u do just giving u some advice maybe it doesn't say in mi but I cannot see a problem with as long as u use high temp plastic that's why I use 1 1/4
No I don't fit that brand of boiler only fit vallient boilers for gas Worcester for oil
