Coming up short!

Hi,

Toilet cistern was leaking due to faulty filling tap (? excuse lack of correct terminology!), changed it semi-successfully but am now coming up short. Any recommendations on what to do?
Wall mounted pull chain toilet.

There's no picture attached. What do you mean by "coming up short"? Not enough water for a flush?

You're going to have to extend the pipework. Can't quite tell from the photo whether it'd be long enough but something like this could do the job:

you could be lucky and the female iron fit
Or maybe a straight service valve
