Basically above ? Lad on site today talking saying he cant do domestic because he only has his commercial gas and meters etc ? Never really thought of it but you would think if they can do the big stuff they can do the smaller things ?

Commercial dude (Like me by the way) cant touch domestic in the same way a domestic monkey can't touch commercial.

It's a question of proving your competence!

Yer ive never thought about it except today the lad is working on our sote and asked if one of us wanted a boiler swap at his house ! He said he was gonna do it but his boss told him to stay clear ? You got your domestic aswell croppie ? Madness really ! Heres this lad fitting a big meter but cant fit or touch small stuff ? So where does the commerical start on pipework ? What are they allowed to work down to ? And is there a maximum ?

If you have ICPN1 there is no limit to pipe size but realistically the big stuff is done by pipefitters and welders. You are only there to supervise and test.
TPCP1 lets you test to 16 bar although you can go above it.
If you also have CMET1 and REGT2 and a couple of other grid things, depending on who you sub to you may get to play with this stuff which was an IP set feeding a G650 (1000m3/hr) at 1 bar

Here is a view from the other side showing the meter and bypass. It was in a steel works and was being decommissioned and all the pipework (over 1000m) purged. Nice earner that one was. There is an asda built there now.
