View the thread, titled "commercial gas work" which is posted in Industrial Plumbing Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

got called to a job today,25 mile from my home, arrived at job and seen 2 inch steel pipe work and a u16 meter,i was very tempted to have ago, having travelled and the current climate,i'm just wondering how many of you's would have just got on with it or did as i did and walked away, the job was a leak on the pipe work the esp had been and capped meter.

If you aren't comfortable about doing something and it was rigged up to something +70KW then you did the right thing. You need to sleep at night mate!!

I think you did the right thing. Its better to walk away and be comfortable in your decision rather than do it and wish you hadn't

I've had it the other way round where I got called to a reported gas leak in a domestic property because I was closest (I've only got commercial tickets).

I did a tightness test and capped off the installation for one of our domestic guys to return and check the boiler over as he could certify the installation. I couldn't.

I decided that, morally, I'd sleep better at night for making sure they were safe. as has been said before in another thread. Better cold than dead cold.
