I bet its in a safe place along with other stuff that you kept in a safe place just in case you need it,

Wheres your safe place?

It does not usually do this ,it wants you to reg or re reg so makes it look like you have to straight away,re run office and check you can not by pass this request by saying reg later or not now ect

Seems strange that a bona fide update wants you to re-register software ! Never had that happen to me before. Make sure it does not try to get you to update any bank or business details also.

This will find the key you used to register office 2007 and any version of Windows itself apart from Windows 7 (you didn't specify in your original post).

If the key was legit, you will be able to use it. If the key wasn't legit then you'll need to buy a new one or consider other options.

I never use computers or smart phones, I don't trust them. I'm telepathically sending this to the internet.

Go to System Restore, and find a point previous to this "Windows Update" restore to this point, and all should be well to use you're computer as previous.

Check Bone Fide Windows on the official Windows update sight for you're Office Suite.

Hope all goes well
