I need to replace a flush valve but I physically can't reach under the cistern to do it. It's behind tiles.

How do you do it?

Thx

Think you'll be doing some demolition mate. Not sure that cistern is designed to be concealed

Either as said previously demolition or if you got long arms and you can take the cistern out do it like this ... I know it's a naughty one . I feel sorry for yoU

So from looking at the pics do you think it's a smash the front off, re board & tile?

Screw in for future access?

If you can't get the cistern out then yes you will need to take tiles offend replace them later ... What's wrong with the flush valve ? The flapper gone ? Can't you unscrew the top part of the flush valve ?

No, I tried to get it off but it's scaled to hell & I didn't want to force it.

If that orange cap comes off is there a fix?

Not the cap mate but some siphons unscrew into three parts so you can replace the diaphragm. There will be a threaded nut on the neck of the siphon if it is one of these. I know it doesn't help you now but it might be best to fit one of these in the future just in case it happens again

Yeah, I'm only fitting Dudley turbo now if possible. If custard want wickes cheap I'll explain my reasoning!

I think I'll tell LL it probably needs breaking out, Dudley turbo in, then board & tile.

All experience & I'm not phased!!

That's the attitude mate :smile: to be honest even the tightest landlord will see that it makes sense to future proof it

I Wouldn't even tile it if its a landlord, Get some White Gloss Panel and cut it to fit, Screws and caps Job done & Future proof

I think if I can cut an access panel it'll be better than smashing it all up. Il use my Fein 18v Multitool- haven't used it yet. I'll then board back up. As long as I can a hand in to tighten plush pipe it'll be a goodun

ooooh get you with a cordless Fein multimaster rocket, how much did that set you back?

Pita = pain in the...

I'm sure I've swapped siphons in those without smashing tiles, slide pan out and then undo the cistern and plumbing and then ease it out.
