just a quick one, some **** fitting a boiler in a cupboard and connect to the rain water stack, this has flooded twice now killing the boiler lucky alpha have replaced the the parts FOC.but the boiler installer is not coming back to the house so its left to me to fix,

its in a flat so its either going back outside or a condensate pump, I have to give the customer the pros or cons of each, i think the safer way is the condy pump. but i would need to run the pipework high level then into the bathroom which is about 15 - 20 meters away will the pump handle that travel.

or would you tee into the rain water with 1"1/2 and take 1"1/4 into the tee

Just put a tee in the condensate drain before it goes into the stack.
Just make sure the tee is lower than the boiler.

That way if the rain water stack blocks the water will spill out of the tee and not reach the boiler.

With Vaillant ecoLEVEL condensate pump, you can have the vertical run up to 4m, and then lay the discharge hose with a constant slope down to the drainage point.

Yeah or just put a decent air gap in it between 22mm plastic and external 32mm plastic. Any overflow will spill out of 32mm top instead of backing into boiler.

We've all gone into rainwater stack at one time or another in those desperate times........

Condensate into Rain water stack unless it discharges into the foul drain is not allowed, as e all know. Take it down the wall independently and dig a soak away surrounded by lime chippings, or try to get it into a foul drain.

should have an air break before it enters the rwp,i just do what it shows in the worcester bosch manuals

into a combined drain of course 🙂

maybe also consider a nrv on the 21.5mm pipework?
