What kind of mens appendage installed this. How can you even try to plumb a large condensate pump into a FB at the same level.
Ill have to fit one of those internal ones, but have found them unreliable.
Anyone any other thoughts (short of changing the boiler or excavating the ground?)

....re plumb the boiler on a slab? Thats what we did fitting internal firebirds.

id chip a hole few inches down and lay the pump in it.

pair of 5 inch cores a few inches in and chip it square?
 
The only problems I have had with the firebird pumps are the plastic pipe goes hard and does not seall properly on the suction side. I fit a jubilee clip which solves the problem
In the above scenario I would have fitted a grant
 
I'm the same as Bing, whack a slab under the boiler or dig hole, which ever may be less work :S
Or a smaller pump in the boiler :S
I reckon you've only got those 3 options really.
Just don't know why Firebird do it like that, stupid way round really lol.
