Hi, I have got a combi boiler with a condensate pump. I have found my boiler twice turned off electrically with the led display off. When I touched the pump the boiler turned on suddenly and the hot water started working again. Any ideas what could cause this? Thank you very much!

The condensate pump has a normally closed volt free switch which opens when the sump is full but the pump hasn’t activated, it’s to prevent the boiler from producing condensate when there’s nowhere for it to go (be pumped away)
I’d guess your installer has wired the boiler feed live connection through this switch. First job would be to clean out the condensate pump of debris (those bits that look like they’ve come from crushed up breezeblocks) which may be clogging up the pump float. Second job is to get a GSR guy in to alter the wiring.
