Anyone doing any work for this crowd? I eventually replied to their emails and got on board yesterday
Their (and my) terms seem reasonable, 10 day from invoice to payment, electronic payment and invoicing etc
Very early days yet, but would be interested to hear from others with experience

Search the forum this came up around 2-3 months back, from memory be prepared to wait for payments and be inventive on the little extras that come up.

Used to until they started querying amounts spent on parts and length of time on site, and don't forget you don't get anything for running around, only time on site, and they have own ideas of how long a job should take, go over that and they will start with holding jobs, will give you this information on your pay sheet , if it drops into the red look out, they will want to see all invoices for parts, and will cut time if they think job is taking to long, if you need to lift floor etc. they will not pay for your time doing it, that is down to customer to make everything accessible even if it's an 80 year old pensioner

I have never done a job for them quite literally heard ex same as what you just said from other engineers around here.

They just rip you off

And don't forgot them trying to barter the price down as " another " company can do it cheaper

Isn`t it a 12 month contract with penalties if you try and get out early? Could be wrong though memory on the subject is not strong.

Think because they use CORGI that most people remember what the old Corgi was, but these people have nothing to do with that, (Stand to be corrected) just another insurance Co, and if they can screw you they will, Just make sure you get permission to do anything. That's if you can get to speak to anyone other than girls in call centre, everything else is by email, they WILL-NOT speak to you direct, so just watch your back !!

I`m sure Ray said exactly that, they sold off the CORGI brand name when it folded.

Cheers all, I'll play it by ear for now
Won't be running around for parts in my time though
They're based in Dunfirmeline (spelling?), so a bit far for me to go to have words if it all goes t1ts up

Hi, Jonny,

Where in Wales are you based? I have recently started doing work for them, so far no problems but I will see how it goes.

Mark.

Hope it works out for you guys, some take to there way of doing things, but a lot can't , all I can do is wish you well with it, just don't let them push you around, and be carful, after all they are only an insurance Co, and will screw you first chance they get, had 2 years with them, and they became a real pain in the backside, look out for call backs !

My biggest issue with them is their lack of loyalty. We've done a fair bit with them over the last 2 years but they'll mess you about with no obvious cause.

Our recall rate has always been low, our time on site minimal, yet one week you'll get a decent amount of work, then you find some else has been doing it all, and we get a recall on their work and paid to rectify, but they still carry on using the other contractor. It's bizarre.

As said, they'll get out of paying or knocking you by any way possible. Their terms of what is or isn't covered is very vague and they seem to make it up as they go along, usually depending on how long someone's been on cover for!

My advice would be, get as much as you can confirmed with them by email prior to carrying out the work. It's unfortunate for the customer as it means they don't get a repair as quick, but they're not yours (yet!) so let CORGI make the decisions as best you can. Also, don't rely on the workload at any time.
