Allright guys

So Ive recently decided to get my own registrations as the firm Im working for currently allows you to do your own jobs at weekends etc and I want to start building up my 'own' customers as I want to setup on my own a way down the line

I have paid gas safe

But I am seriously thinking of paying Corgi as well?

As Im relatively newly qualified Im not sure if the old hands out there are still lining Corgis pockets or not?

Their logo is definately still ingrained in most consumers minds as 'gas' hence Im thinking it may be worth putting it on the van?

But do you get anything else from them? anyone know how much it is?

thoughts and advice appreciated

You need to be Gas Safe Registered NOT Corgi. You cannot be a Corgi Registered Gas Engineer.

Corgi still exist but not for a register of installers. In any case I completely disagree with what you say and would not use them and not have a Corgi logo on anything of mine. With the many GasSafe advertising campaigns, most customers are aware of GasSafe Register and if they see a Corgi logo anywhere they assume the company is not up to date.

I was considering the same to use the corgi logo which people still look for, but corgi is changing it's name to The Gas Safety Trust in April anyway so it's pointless!

Most people recognise the gas safe logo now so there is little point registering with corgi for their identity.
Although I believe that Corgi will probably win back the tender eventually and that this was a shot accross their bow.

My point exactly.
I KNOW gas safe are the regulating body...! as Im registered with them.

But was wanting to know if other people are still paying Corgi just to be able to use their logo etc

it seems that no one else is though so thanks for the responses to those who have replied usefully 🙂
