Hi

Question to plumbers.....Just wondering how much the going rate is to install a new isolation valve 15mm (old one is dripping) and a flexible tap hose connector that is also leaking?

Thanks alot

J

Sounds like an easy job, but often there is more to it. Very hard to estimate without seeing the job. Parts dont amount to much, but you never know if there will be problems with access, isolation, etc.

Have you already got a quote?
A wee job can often be a hard job, but assuming it turns out usual simple job, then a call out or 1 hour charge, or less if plumber is doing other work in house. Could be a 10 min job or a nightmare job - can't price a job you can't see.

No such thing as an 'easy' job.

Without seeing it, unable to advise costs, too many variables to consider as plumbing bud mentioned.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Access isnt a problem, both inside cupboards with nothing in the way. 10mins job each, maximum I reakon. I`m in London btw.

Thanks

london is the most expensive place really. if you put a request in the plumber wanted section then members near you can contact you directly.

ok thanks, I`m just looking for a rough idea of price and then I`ll probably triple it for London prices ;-)

its ok seeing the pipework as like me i have had a nightmare turning off the water supply and ended up spending 2 hour on a job then digging a toby to turn off in the street and then change a service valve so it can be costly. a simple job never plans to be a simple job

try to use someone local try local or free newspaper id think anywhere between 75 and 150
im in e17 if thats near

this sort of job usually goes on a per hour + parts basis.
dependent on area of an average hourly going rate.

therefore, the job will cost 1hr + parts min (£10), allow for up to 3 hours if it all goes wrong then you will have the ball park cost. as a guide.

plenty of guys in your area on here, just pm one or two.

Can't you use a flexi with a built in iso valve? Would save fluffing about with 2 separate components.
