This time of year my hands start to look a little worse for wear. Can't always get on with gloves so end up with keens ( don't know if this is a Yorkshire word ) which takes ages to heal. This is especially true for the thumb winding bahcos in and out. I have just discovered Germolene new skin liquid plaster. Unlike the Elastoplast spray on stuff it dries very quickly and with very little waste. It stings a bit on an open keen but lasts a full day. In the old days I would use lanolin then plaster over. It worked but no sensitivity and you end up spending a fortune on plasters. Worth a try if you suffer similarly.

surgical spirit or iodine on burst blisters, cleans and burns all in one! For the real hairy men out there with blistered feet, you can pull a bit of cotton though the blister to wick out the fluid! or for the complete nutters (royal marines come to mind) suck out blister fluid with hypodermic and replace with iodine!!!!!!!!

i use nivea sos hand balm.

use every day stops skin becoming chapped and dried out. its every bit as good as the nutragena stuff but half the price

I use Dermashield barrier cream every day and also wear gloves. If I don't wear gloves after a couple of days my hands are so painful that I can't work. This is after years of working without gloves. One day my hands just started cracking up.

No one has yet told what the Quacks recommend for dermatitis

(or was that all of the above- especially Laco)

My doctor reckons what with the soft tissue injuries, the back strain, the stress and weird hours plumbers are on borrowed time, dermatitis is the least of our worries
