i have removed my broken danfoss 3 port valve as the ch was coming on with the hot water only, my problem is i have replaced this with a honywell 3 port .

and the wiring is slightly different , on the danfoss it has 4 wires ,,grey, blue, orange and (brown and white combined)

on the honeywell it has 5 wires ,, grey, blue, orange, white and (yellow green earth wire)

i have swapped all wires like for like at the terminal block, i have put the earth from the honywell to an earth point, and have put the white wire were the old white and brown wire connected to the block.

my problem now is the room stat will turn the heating on but it will not turn it off, the boiler will just keep running until it turns off on the boiler stat, and then will refire once it has cooled down.

so is the wiring different on a danfoss hsa3 do i need to do some thing different when wiring in a honywell ?

Green/yellow - earth
Blue - neutral
Grey - to common of stat on hot water cylinder
White - to common of room stat
Orange - to switched live on boiler

I've definitely got green/yellow and blue correct - fairly sure about the others.
You can try the Honeywelluk website - loads of wiring diagrams, explanations, etc

thanks for that, i agree youve defo got the earth and neutral correct, its the other 3 im unsure of as the old danfoss has a brown and white wire , and the honywells is just white,

stupid question but the sider on the side of the 3 port is in the auto possision and not in manual or bent ?

checked wiring for u on honeywell and danfoss for u white, blue, green are correct orange gos to number 8 and gray to number 7 off the terminal strip presuming your cylinder stat is using a 3 wire switched and common set up

Not a stupid question.

Essentially it's closed when it's stiff and it floppy it's open. To open manually you slide it right and lock it into place.
