dewalt warranty...

I bought the 18v dewalt xr impact driver and combi hammer drill about a yr ago and the combi drill packed up today. Starting making a loud crackling noise and stopping while drilling and slipping. Am surprised at this as I have not used them that much. The old ni-cad drill I had lasted 3yrs for half the price. Has anyone else had a problen with the xr range?

Anyway, I did register the warranty online but ccannot remember what website. Would it be the normal dewalt one?

goto the dewalt website, login into your account and you should find a list of the tools you have under warranty. check you email inbox if you cant remember your login details.

ive not had any issue with my dewalt xr stuff, apart from i burnt out my 18v sds drill. i was drilling 25mm into concreate tho and kept gewin when i thought i smelt burning 🙁 did the same to a bosch, i should really learn from these things.

Thanks, did as you said and up it came in my email address. Logged in and there was the email. I have a yr left. Pheew. I couldn't smell any burning, it just kept making loud rattling crunching noise and as soon as you apply pressure it stops. Luckily am off to south africa for 2 weeks tomorrow, so no need for it. Although, I do have back ups

90% of a zillion is still a lot for a drill.

just take your reciept to a dewalt repairer and they will sort it for free possibly!
they did with mine over a year old, twice, once for the chuck then 3 batteries. there upfront about dodgey batches of parts.
very good service imo.

I think I shall do this then. I have a repair shop close so will take it in today so it will be ready for collection when back from holidays.

My 18v xr sds is in for repair at the minute just under a year old and only been used a dozen times and has drilled nothing bigger than a 10mm hole. Thank god for the 3 year warranty

Dewalt service centres are few and far between. My core drill needed repairing twice, the second time I insisted they come and collect and return for free. Still took over a week for the turn around.
