hi i am a new member and i want to learn about the Train4trade course on plumbing i have someone visiting me on Friday about the course will i have to pay or is it goverment funded and will i learn enough to have a carrer out of it i want to start my own female plumber buisness.(i am presently unemployed).

you may be fed a lot of facts,30,000 plumbing jobs unfilled, easy £30,000 a year,at precent there are very few plumbing jobs out there, most pay a lot less than£30,000.most companies are looking for at least four years post training experience, in this ecconomic climate they can pick and choose. you will have to pay for these courses, ask training company to prove how easy it will be to get a job on completion of course.ask at job center if there are goverment sponserd and payed for cources.dont part with your money untill you are shure what you will get in return is worth it.

anyone trying to enter plumbing at present is mad
you will struggle like hell to earn a living
it isnt a easy thing to master and there are just too many people been sold the dream and still are
as stated most companies want expereinced people and can pick and choose and pay less than ever these days
seriously consider also how you are going to hump a 1500x600 rad possible up stairs or lift a cast iron bath or even some steel ones
this is not meant to be a knock or criticism but it is a very physical job
please please consider before you part with a lot of money or sign up to a finance scheme

Hello and welcome......If you have thought this through, then go for it but make sure you check up on any course provider, even go pay a visit and ask questions to studnets about how they think it is for value for money..
Any traning provider worth thier slat will not deny you access on a spur of the moment visit...thats how you get best feedback by just turning up.

Be very careful about 'fast track training schemes'. As most plumbers on this site will tell you there is no fast way to gain the experience necessary to become a high earning qualified and safe plumber. The industry expect a minimum of the NVQ level 2, SVQ level 3 in Scotland (not just the technical certificate gained in colleges but also the practical experience gained on the job). Without the proper qualifications if something goes wrong you could find yourself facing a criminal charge against a new piece of legislation called the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. There has already been a couple of cases including a six month sentence (suspended) for a person who the judge deemed incompetent because he did not have the correct Plumbing qualifications according to the industry.
