I have a Baxi 130HE

Condensate trap looks to have grey/white powdery blockages. I can get at the drain plug on the right side but if I open it and drain that side, maybe dislodge some of the debris, do I need to then refill it somehow before next running the boiler?

If anyone could provide a quick step-by-step on cleaning the trap it would be a great help to me.

cheers

You should remove the trap completely clean it out refill and refit. If you don't refill it it will fill up and do no harm but it is is a safety thing risl of combustion products passing through the trap. OTT I think

Thanks for the quick reply Tackleburger.

I wondered if I could improve things by cleaning it out in situ somehow, but I guess I'll have to get a gas fitter out to do it because it's in a tricky place in this boiler, behind the fan assembly.

As wise move, get an analyser test done as well at same time to check burning correctly and efficiently 🙂

omho
