Dripping appliance connection

I have recently bought a new flat and the people below informed me of a leak going through to them. I have found the drip and it is from a washing machine/dishwasher connection (image attached, drip coming from red circle highlighted area) I have turned the valve off and wrapped the connection with PTFE tape for now. Having looked on this site I think it could be a washer or the hose, am I best getting a new hose or should a new washer do the trick? When I do the repair are there any tips to make sure I do this correctly! Appreciate any help!

Hi mate , ptfe tape wont do much at all it is for wraping around a thread before it is screwed , also the ptfe will not make the connection tight as this will impede the use of the washer.
1, Turn off water
2, Unscrew and just replace the washer or the red hose with a new one.
3, Either way, hand tight connection the new hose and give it another quater turn with
some pump pliers.
4, Failing this you can just buy the new (chrome valve above the white section, 'T' ) you will need a 15 mm compression washing machine 'T' with two 3/4 inch thread connections. Simply connect the hoses on to this new valve.

think I'll try replacing the washer and if that doesn't solve it i'll get a new hose!

if its leaking where you have highlighted its possible the y piece is cracked for what they cost id just change the y piece as it comes with the washer to join to the valve
when tracing a leak like this dry iy of and start from the highest point and work down till you find the wet bit

you would be suprised how many leaks I go to and the houseowner/washing machine man hasnt bothered to fit a washer on it in the first place
