Hi everyone, I have a problem with a dripping overflow from the central heating header tank. There was a type 3 high pressure ball valve there - I replaced it 24 hours later dripping, maybe duff unit, replaced it again, 24 hours - so today type 1 old fashioned ball cock. (No the ball doesn't have water in it). On all the times I have been in loft the water is warm, could it be that the indirect coil in the water tank has corroded and the excess water is coming from the cold tank, anyone got any ideas as this is driving me crazy, and upsetting neighbour who has an ice rink for a drive?

Shut the cold main off to the cold water storage cistern and header tank and see if the level in the storage cistern drops as the level in the header tank rises.

Coil has gone in the hot water cylinder. Time for a new cylinder.
