called to a job yesterday.
capped of by supplier, when arrived found drop on system as was to be expected, went over all visible pipework and fittings, with gas sniffer, remade all visible compression fiting , and even blanked of from appliance so to elimate the possibility of appliance isolation valve passing, still dropping but not as bad as on first test,
even replaced rubber washers on meter.
this only left a small section of buried 2 / 3 foot of pipework ,the meter and hockey stick, checked all around their with gas sniffer. no result.
so recommemded new line in.
what is the possibilities that the 1.7 mb drop is on the meter.
anyone ever come across this situation?????
and if so how would you test for drop on meter.
and where does the gas providers responsibility end.
is it at the ecv, at the gas outlet, or at the end of the connection of the hockey stick.

all ideas welcomed.
,

Cap or disc meter at outlet and test. That will test your meter for leaks.
By the way what is a hockey stick? (i know you can play hockey with one).

as above cap meter and test,i have had them leak before but its rare, think the hockey sticks the ecv also ldf the anaconda(flexible link from ecv to governor)

the hockey stick , (as i call it) is the pipe from outlet ,(ie a formed bend to pick up the internal pipework.

thanks for replys,
although ,where does the gas providers responsibility end.
is it at the ecv, at the gas outlet on meter , or at the end of the connection of the outlet pipe , where property owners pipework start.

GP covers incoming to meter supply, ecv, anaconda, governer, meter rest is custards problem

what about that preformed pipework from outlet.( ie hockeystick)

looks like a pre manufactured piece that was supplied with meter.
that picks up custormers,pipework.

or anaconda as its called in wales yes thats there responsibility common to find it pin holed mainly by laco dripping on it

no, not the anaconda , that a flexible aluminium looking pipe, on the inlet ,
this meter has no flexibles at all.
the inlet has a rigid pipe, and a rigid pipe on the outlet, and would appear to taper down from about 1 inch from meter narrowing down to 3/4,to pick up feed for appliances etc. and in all respect looks as though specifictly designed, for the meter.

i am probaly not explaining it clearly enough.
this is the outlet pipe from the meter
(after ecv ,after regulator/governor, after meter, after test nipple, and before where customers supply pipework and compression fittings start.
hope this makes it clearer.

after meter outlet nut , then a preformed pipe , (shaped like a hockey stick) then on to a 3/4 compresion uinion conecting onto customers piework.

see your point, ring them and ask,i would have thought customer so if you think its on there cut out and replace with copper, but ask supplier first if they would do it f.o.c
