Does anyone have a experience with electrolytic scale reducers in hard water areas (400ppm) versus polyphosphate (Combiguard)?

I like the idea of the SESI as it's basically a fit and forget (10-15 years) and there's also no annual maintenance cost.

Fitted a few of the Fernox electrolytic scale reducers. Seem to work well and you don't need to remember to add chemicals to the water like you do with polyphosphate.

Are the electrolytic ones you describe the magnetic type ? If so there are important considerations in how they condition the water.
