hi,
Is it necessary to disconnect the old expansion vessel before fitting an external e/v to a28junior
boiler. suspect I've got one that's leaking slightly.

i would cap the old if i could not replace the vessel and install external

If can get to it ok would normally cap as saves any further issues with old vessel. But i have left some in past as it is.

Is it a greenstar model? You would need one of those caps which Worcester supply with the new boilers that we have to remove prior to connection the new vessel!!
