External waste stack - overloaded with bathrooms !!!

Hi,

What a great forum, a big hello to all.....

I have searched the internet and so far been unfruitful so I'm hoping you guys / lasses can help?

I have a 6 bedroom home of which 4 bedrooms are en-suite, 3 are connected straight to the original house waste stack, 1 bathroom (down stairs) is connected via sub stack into main sewage system, per previous building regulations and planning permission.

However currently my sons bedroom is via a pumped sanitary system which to be honest is not working out (my son is autistic and freaks out when it flushes/pumps) so it is no longer in use.

Due to the lay out of my home I have worked out that I could connect his room to the main sewage system placing the 4" pipe via the eves and installing an external connection (yes there will be a lot of work dig up existing patio etc man holes etc, I’m sure you get the picture) but I will have to raise his bedroom floor 4/5 inches for the required fall.

Question :- are you allowed to have an external stack/ waste pipe? Ideally and practicably it will be run up the rear of my property and finish around 800 mm clear of the roof line.

[FONT=&quot]Any help of the current legislation would be most appreciated, if it helps I'm located in a detached home in West Sussex, the home was built in the late 70's, non-conservation area / listed etc.

Hi Yes you can run an external soil and vent.

my only reservation is that W sx plannners/b regs can be absolute sticklers for detail, having lived there for 42 years, and moved away so ask for advice cautiously and be prepared to compromise and fit in with their demands. Cant fathom why if your putting the soil pipe in the eaves that you will need to raise your sons room floor as well, surely you just lower the soil pipe.
