Can anyone tell me if the quote for the following is in the right ball park, being relatively young with no prior experience of the trade I can't tell 😉
Obviously I'll be seeking others but it's a local guy and he seemed very thorough and we liked his manner.

2 bed end of terrace with gas supply to cooker at front, all heating is currently electric on storage heaters along with immersion heater for hot water.

We're looking to replace it all with a combi gas boiler along with central heating throughout, removal of old tanks, pipework to bedroom (Immersion) etc

Gas feed from front ground to loft (external)
Board out loft (for access), build plinth for boiler and vent to outside etc
Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i Junior (5 year guarantee) + wireless controller
4 x Rads (2 Bedroom, 1 lounge, 1 hallway)
1 x Towel large rail (Bathroom)
All piping, flush, inhibitor etc
We have those PITA floor boards which are large sheets of mdf upstairs as well.
All to Gas safe standards etc

All in £4k

That's a good quote if you think that your lookin at £400 per rad x5 =£2k.
plus your boiler £1,400.00 ish. Plus build costs for loft plinths etc etc.Plus he's well mannered what more can you ask for.

Sounds fair enough to me but the junior isn't a great boiler lets be honest here. Cut down version of the CDI, no hot water control if I remember rightly. The flueing options are limiting in terms of vertical height I had to up to the 125mm to flue 8m vertically including two 45s. Expansion vessel not replacable from the front.

If I had been fitting the Vaillant echotech pro 28 none of these things would be a problem boilers are about the same price the junior is a con. If it has to be a Worcester get the 28 CDI.

Thanks for all the replies 🙂

I need to dot the i's and cross the t's but I think we're getting there, I also have the option of going to the 30Si combi for about £100 more.

£100 quid extra is fair and worth the money if only for the ability to adjust the hot water temperature.
