Fault finding courses

Hello, I am looking to improve my combi fault finding knowledge. Infact i have no knowlege 😳 . I would like to understand the workings of a multimeter and how i can detect faults with them. I have looked at several courses in my area (north west) and they are expensive!! I am willing to invest in my future but i thought i would try and get some feedback from anyone who has attened or lectured at these courses anyone have any opinions?

I'd just go on a few of the manufacturers product courses, they cost very little and the principles are common between most of them.
