modena is ok according to ferroli engineer I know, he was more honest about other models🙂

When I read that, I made a noise like a camel trying to pronounce your username in chinese!

It must be very, very cheap for you to be tempted.

fit a main or ideal the two you are asking about are better coming strait from the factory and putting in a skip

get the independence plus 5 years pm ray he will be able to sort you out

Fitted a few modena 27 & 32 there ok if you get version with mechanical clock but i dont fit them anymore because as soon as mention ferroli custs run a mile easier to sell ideal or baxi. But if a choice had to be made between the 2 it would be the modena

Hi Moogwai,

Just out of interest, I hope I'm not being too nosey.

What percentage of the £2500.00 do you get in your pocket at the end of the job?
(% of the material costs)

I know what I would charge over here for the same type of installation and I know we pay a lot more for our equipment over here.

Just done some quick calculations and we would struggle to buy the equipment / materials for the price you are doing the whole job for.
- and that is with a non-condensing boiler -

Hope I am not prying too much,

Oz-plumber

No worries mate, there are 3 of us doin this one so should take us a day.....a long day but will be looking to split around £800. Might need to pop back the next day for a few hours. We're used to working in the houses round by us so already have a plan for pipework etc which always makes it easier. Land on the job, bang the job out, go the pub!!

I'll tell you why I am Gobsmacked....

It's not the cost of the materials / equipment that left my jaw on the ground.

It's whats left over after the cost of the materials / equipment...... and split 3 ways.

I hate to say this, i feel i'm swearing at an old lady but i would pick the fer..... Fer...... Ferrrrr...... I cant even say it!

I'm constantly ripping out biasi boilers at 3 to 5 years old.
Look for alternatives and find out from ray if he has some slightly damaged boilers maybe?

Moogwai,

Amazing - are you serious?

From what you have stated:

- I can assume there is around 30 Hours labour in the job...and for @ £800. to be split 3 ways.
- You are @ 30% cheaper than other quotes...and thats a fair wack on a job this size.
Either the other contractors didn't want the job or you missed something in your quote.
