Hello there,
i have an ideal mexio 40-60 boiler, it is currently in my kitchen cupboard, there is a vent in the floor outside the door of the cupboard, i was told this is use by the boiler for fresh air?

I am having a new kitchen,
1) can i move this vent into the cupboard its self onto the floor ?
The cupboard door is vented, like slats from top to bottom and the bit above the door doesnt open but is in the same slat style.
2) Can i put a solid door instead of this slated one? i am assuming i can only do this if i can move the vent into the cupboard itself.
3) if i cant put a solid door on either way, can i board over the top bit above the door?

Thanks for your time.

Lee

these vents are compartment vents for cooling of applaince, you need someone(gsr) to take a look to give you advice on ventiltion needed/and location, bit hard to advise witout seeing it

Agree, get a Gas Safe Engineer to look at it, as different rules for Open flue & room sealed boilers

do not go against this advise as the ventilation could be critical.
do not employ kitchen fitters to alter as this could be illegal and dangerous.
