Hi,

I would class myself as a reasonably competent DIY bod and would like to know if it is ok to use Speedfit fittings directly to the shower inlet tube (straight plastic) or should I make the 'final' conection with a brass compression joint?

Many thanks in advance.

Just remember a 10.5kw shower requires a 10mm square cable and to a fuse rating of 45A. 6mm cable isnt designed for such a high load and may melt, but is ok for 8.5kw.

10mm cable is tough to work with which is why I prefer to stick to 8.5 kw showers.
